We selected our suppliers to minimise the distance between them, ensure the use of local materials and reduce our carbon footprint.
We also selected only suppliers that combined great talent and great workers. Ethic is one of our core value and we made sure it was respected, at all time, through our entire supply chain.
Treatment of worker is essential for us and we want to work in environments where trust, integrity and honesty are guaranteed.
At Norm, we only select suppliers that respect their workers, improve their life and provide good work conditions. We ensure that employment is freely chosen and that they do not use any child labor.
It is key for us to provide equal chances and conditions for all workers, independently from their gender, sexual orientation, religion or ethnicity.
We are finally, totally transparent toward you and all our stakeholders. We share honest and pertinent information and we are open about production locations and the name of suppliers.
Asial/Eureka is the factory doing the final assembly of Norm. They are based in the region of Porto in Portugal. They are the artisans that make everything take shape.
The purpose is to assemble the shoe in a way that it can be dismantled easily for the second life of the product. The assembly is requiring two components: yarn and glue. The yarn is identical to the one used to make the upper and is made from recycled polyester, and the glue is a water-based product to avoid chemical components.
Our 3D-Knit is made by Temmuz Triko in Turkey, a specialist in complex knitted products. Knit material is, as its name indicate, a material made from yarns that is knitted like textile would be, on a complex loom.
The knit has the advantage to use less materials than a classical process. The upper is directly made to dimensions and requires almost no cutting, sewing or other components. It is also light, it breathes, it’s flexible while providing enough support and comfort. We need the equivalent of 6 PET bottles to create the yarn for one pair of shoes
Bolflex is the factory that make Norm outsoles. They invented the Eco-rubber that contain 70% recycled and 30% Natural and fair-trade rubber that we use in our products. The material is mixed, melted and injected into molds (showed on the picture) to make the soles. It is also 100% recyclable and can be, among others, reused to make new soles.
Bolflex is also based in the region of Porto, few kilometers away from Asial.
Certifications: PETA, REACH, ISO 14001
The removable insoles we use in our shoes are made by the Portugese plant of Flexospuma. The foam is made from 100% recycled polyurethane.
For hygienic reason, we need to glue a textile layer to the insole. This layer is made by Antex using two materials: 80% Seaqual® - a material made from 100% recycled PET packaging collected from Ocean’s wastes - and from 20% recycled polyester. The layer is attached to the foam using a water-based glue.

STROBEL SOCKS & COUNTERS
Our Strobel socks - the part that is located under the insole and stitched to the upper - and our counters - the part that is located at the back of the shoes to ensure the foot support - are made by Industrie Biagioli in Italy from IbiGreen materials. This material is made from 100% reprocessed polyester fibers, recycled from manufacturing activities. This material is also completely chemical free.
The Strobel socks name comes from the Strobel assembly technique and from the sewing machine manufacturer that wear the same name. This construction is the most common in sneakers shoes as it guarantees flexibility and comfort.

ANTEX & SINTERAMA
The Yarn - Ecoantex® - we use to make our uppers, insoles cover and for the assembly is made by Antex in Spain from 100% recycled post-consumer PET bottles. The bottles are washed, separated from labels and impurities, and then pelletized into flakes. The material is then blended and melted into a resin that is transformed into yarns ready to be used.
Certifications: Global Recycled Standard, ÖKO-TEX 100
The yarns used to make the labels, ribbons and laces are made by Sinterama from their Newlife® fibers. As for Antex, Newlife® fibers are made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET bottles, transformed into yarns through a mechanical process.
